Clean panels start with clean water.
Large solar plants are often built where water is scarce, salty or hard. From simple softening programmes to full desalination, we design the water side of your cleaning programme so every clean leaves the glass spotless.
When hard or salty water dries on a panel, it leaves a thin film of minerals behind. That film blocks light like dust does, but it doesn’t wash off with the next clean. The water you clean with matters as much as how often you clean.
The water softening programme.
Not every site needs a desalination plant. If the only water you have is hard borehole or municipal water, we run a softening programme that treats it before it touches the glass, so it dries clean without scale.
- Softening agents dosed into bowsers and tanks
- Mobile ion-exchange softener units for larger volumes
- Hardness tested on every fill, with results logged
- Faster and cheaper to start than a full RO plant

Matched to your water.
We test your source water, then pick the lightest treatment that gets it clean enough.
| Your water | Typical treatment | Set-up time | RenewClean programme |
|---|---|---|---|
| Moderately hard | Softening agent dosed into the bowser | Days | Softening programme |
| Hard, high volumes | Mobile ion-exchange softener | 1 to 2 weeks | Softening programme |
| Brackish or salty | Reverse osmosis | Weeks | RO with our water partners |
| Sea water or no supply | Containerised desalination or trucked water | Weeks | Desalination with our water partners |
How we supply cleaning water.
We design the whole chain with our water partners, sized to your cleaning schedule and your site.
Find the water
Borehole, municipal, trucked, brackish or sea water: we test what is available.
Soften, filter or desalinate
Softening, reverse osmosis or desalination, depending on your water.
Store on site
Tanks sized to the busiest week of the cleaning schedule.
Get it to the rows
Bowsers, fill points and hoses placed to keep crews cleaning.
Spotless glass
Low-mineral water dries clean, with no scale left behind.
Water systems sized to your schedule.
The cleaning programme tells us how much water you need and when. The water system is built around that.
Water testing
We test your source water for hardness, salts and solids, and set a quality target for cleaning.
- Hardness and total dissolved solids
- Seasonal changes in supply
- Volumes the schedule needs
Desalination and RO
Containerised reverse-osmosis and desalination units, designed and supplied with our water partners.
- Brackish and sea water
- Softening and pre-filtration
- Brine handled responsibly
Using less water
The cheapest water is the water you don’t need. We plan cleans to use as little as possible.
- Low-water and robotic methods
- Products that cut rinse water
- Reuse where the site allows

Specialists in water. Specialists in solar.
We work with established desalination and water-filtration companies. They bring the water treatment expertise; we bring the cleaning programme and the field teams. You get one point of contact for both.
- One contract for cleaning and cleaning water
- Sized together, so you don’t overbuild or run dry
- Run and maintained as part of the programme
