Utility-scale solar cleaning

Utility-scale solar cleaning, run like a power plant.

For IPPs, asset owners and O&M contractors running 10 MWp to several hundred MWp. We measure soiling across every block, clean at the point where it pays, and report the energy we recover.

Built for big plants

Every block cleaned at the right time.

On a large plant, one schedule for every block wastes money. Dust drifts off roads, tracker rows soil differently to fixed tilt, and a neighbouring mine or cement works can contaminate one corner. We measure it, model it and clean block by block.

  • Soiling sensors and reference cells across the plant
  • Optimised cleaning frequency per block and season
  • Robotic, tractor-mounted and crew cleaning
  • Contaminant removal for cement, scale and fallout
  • On-site softening, RO or desalination for cleaning water
What you get

A cleaning programme your lenders will like.

Documented, measured and reported, so cleaning becomes a managed line item, not a guess.

Soiling study

Soiling rate, contaminant type and the yield it costs, per block.

Optimised schedule

The frequency that gives the most energy per rand, updated with the seasons.

Safety file

OHS Act method statements, risk assessments and a site-specific safety file.

Monthly report

Energy recovered, water used, rows cleaned and defects found.

Utility-scale FAQ

Questions from plant owners.

How often should a utility-scale solar plant be cleaned?

It depends on the soiling rate, rainfall, the value of your energy and the cost per clean. Dry, dusty sites in the Northern Cape can justify cleaning every few weeks; other sites only a few times a year. We measure soiling on site and set the interval that costs you least.

Can you clean single-axis tracker plants?

Yes. We schedule cleaning with the tracker position in mind and choose robots, tractor brushes or crews to suit the row spacing and access.

Do you work alongside our O&M contractor?

Yes. We can design the programme for your O&M team, supply water and crews, or take on the full cleaning scope under your O&M contract.

Where in South Africa do you work?

Nationwide, including the Northern Cape, Western Cape, Free State, North West and Limpopo, where most utility-scale solar plants are built.
